Dr. Ernestina Mazza

Biography

Dott.ssa. Mag. Ernestina Sabrina Mazza was born in Italy in 1976. Already in her early childhood she came into contact with the topics of spirituality and self-discovery. From a very young age she was characterized by a distinct mediumistic ability and a deep empathy. This enabled her to perceive the sensations of the people around her, as well as to intuitively grasp their emotional world and the basic structure of their personality.

At the age of seven she began to study the Far Eastern disciplines of body and mind. Since November 1983, she has been intensively involved in the theory and practice of Asian bodywork as well as some martial arts and their styles, including Seitai, Shotokan Karate, Kung-Fu, Tai-Chi and Aikido.

In this way, she is deeply involved with Asian philosophy in general and Taoism in particular, which is why her work currently combines elements of the Far Eastern and Taoist traditions with energetic, therapeutic and scientific approaches that originate in Western culture.

Far Eastern martial arts, meditation teachings and philosophy

Ernestina Sabrina Mazza has been intensely involved in these subjects since she was seven years old. She is well versed in the Asian martial arts and styles of Shotokan Karate, Kung-Fu and Tai-Chi, and in the course of this she has thoroughly studied Far Eastern philosophy. In Padua she studied Chinese philosophy and Buddhism with Prof. Giorgio Pasqualotto and extended her long-time theoretical study of these knowledge contents as well as Indian and ethnic philosophy by several stays in India. In addition, she devoted two years to the study of Sanskrit as part of her linguistic studies.

Dance and bodywork

Already at the age of three, Ernestina Sabrina Mazza received ballet lessons and in the following years she also studied jazz dance, salsa, merengue as well as intuitive, ritual and meditative dance and became a Shiatsu practitioner. Through this diverse background she was able to develop her own method based on intuitive dance – Intuitive Dance according to Dr. Mazza ®. She is convinced that the body is the place of the soul. Through intuitive and meditative dance, it is possible to create harmony between body and mind as well as to develop personal authenticity. She also began to study the teachings of yoga at the age of fourteen due to her involvement with Asian martial arts and Far Eastern philosophy. Over time, by combining different forms of therapy and dance, as well as intensive bodywork (such as Shiatsu), she was able to develop an effective and valuable method that allows the somatic intelligence of the body to be intuitively stimulated. This is done by using ethnic music to bring about a liberating and relaxing effect on the triadic system of soul, body and mind. Through several stays in India, Dr. Mazza deepened her practice in the field of yoga, which is why in the treatment method Intuitive Dance according to Dr. Mazza ® can also be found foundations from Bhakti. Likewise, she also held for several years a variety of courses for adults, children and older fellows, dealing with the teaching of yoga, dance and martial arts.

Pedagogical activities: Trainer, teacher and educator

in 1997, after having completed her pedagogical training at the Teacher Training College of Padua, Dott. Ernestina Sabrina Mazza began to work as a trainer and teacher in educational institutions in Padua. As part of a foreign language project, she taught for seven years at secondary schools in Deutschfeistritz in the Graz area. She also worked as a foreign language trainer at the Urania in Graz from 2001 to 2007. Her intensive involvement with children and their needs gave her important impulses, both in terms of the development of her educational training and with regard to energetic work with children and parents. Dr. Mazza has developed efficient treatment procedures and intuition trainings, with the help of which children can be supported in their personal development. It is also always a matter of great concern to her that parents can be given the right tools for their active and empathic engagement with their children, so that independent action is subsequently possible. For this reason, parents are taught the basics of bodywork, intuition training and other techniques so that they can work productively with their own children and have a positive approach to them.

Journalist and book author

Ernestina Sabrina Mazza showed a strong talent for creative writing and Romance philology at a very early age. She became involved with language and its inherent therapeutic and creative dimensions at a very young age. Her career as a publicist began at the age of nineteen. Since that time, she has regularly written articles for various journals and online magazines, dealing with cultural topics as well as falling into the realm of alternative medicine, health, and spirituality.

Her intense involvement with languages and her inquisitiveness, as well as a strong ability to communicate, led her to decide to study literature and linguistics. As a result of this great interest, she now has a variety of language skills: In addition to Italian as her mother tongue, German, English, French, Spanish, Ancient Greek and Latin are part of her communication repertoire. She is also proficient in Portuguese and Sanskrit. Her passion for language led her to expand her interests to include philosophy, mythology, archetypes and cultural anthropology.

Since the age of nineteen, in terms of her search for knowledge, there has been a focus on the field of archetypal theory, and she has been strongly influenced in her work by Carl Gustav Jung and James Hillman. In mythology she was inspired by Joseph Campbell, and with regard to the examination of the language of symbols as well as the different linguistic traditions, the writings of C. G. Jung, René Guénon and Marcel Granet play an important role. She later deepened these aspects by studying psychology in Padua and Graz and by her interest in different psychotherapeutic approaches.

Ernestina Sabrina Mazza has been working independently for several years and is currently the director of akademie bios®, whose headquarters are in Graz. Her ongoing involvement with spiritual foundations since childhood has enabled her to establish a research, training and consulting institute where she works with her unique and largely self-developed methods, which combine the best of Far Eastern philosophy, intuition training, psychology, especially archetypal psychology, Taoist bodywork and Asian martial arts. Dr. Mazza’s field of activity extends to Austria and Italy.
